It is approaching 40 years in business for Pipping Concrete, Inc. (www.pippingconcrete.com) and over the years the company has earned a reputation for excellence and has become known as the nation’s leader in agricultural concrete. Pipping Concrete, Inc. is a family business and is owned by Dennis and Carla Pipping.
Pipping Concrete’s story began back in 1985 with the purchase of Rosendale Farm Equipment, which sold feed and manure-handling equipment. By 1994, the company went 100% into the agricultural concrete business. Dennis says, “From day one, our goal has always been to outperform our competition in quality and efficiency.” Through out of the box thinking, hard work, and investing in cutting edge technology, they have been able to separate themselves from the rest. Their investment in custom wall forms, Somero Lazer Screeds, quality tools and survey equipment, and a high standard for their team members has helped them to increase speed and efficiency, as well as quality. According to Dennis, “These technologies can be costly, but we are always looking for a better way to do things and to continually improve what we do. We always want to give our customers the best product available.”
There has been tremendous growth in the past 40 years, as Pipping Concrete offers the “Cadillac” of bunker silo feed storage; waste storage facilities including round tanks, straight wall tanks, and sloped wall lagoons; and the expertise to construct many styles of methane digesters. So much of their business comes from word of mouth, from one satisfied customer to another. As a result, they continue to expand their business and have completed projects across the country, including projects in Wisconsin, New York, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, California, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Michigan, and Indiana.
One of the things that the Pipping Concrete leadership team has found as they work with customers on their projects is that there are many hoops to jump through when it comes to planning and permitting a project. Dennis explained, “Pipping Concrete, Inc. can take the headache out of the preliminary process. We are NRCS pre-approved; call us first, so that we can help you avoid the hassle. There is no need to hire an engineer to design your storage. We have already gotten the design approved.”
Dennis’s favorite part about this business is the opportunity to visit with producers interested in having a project completed. “If you are in the need for waste storage or feed storage or are interested in methane digesters, please contact us. We can answer all of your questions from preliminary feasibility of a project, how to get a project started, questions on pricing, and any questions about the high-quality products that we offer. We can lay out a time frame for the project and save the customer a lot of time, money, and headaches."
