One of the United Kingdom’s largest chicken producers and a water company were taken to court over pollution concerns in the Wye, Lugg, and Usk rivers. Lawmakers say it’s the biggest case over environmental concerns brought to UK lawmakers because of the number of claimants and the geographical spread. More than 4,500 people who live or work near the river signed up to take part in the case. The group claims that runoff from chicken litter application and sewage spills are causing water quality issues in the river.
